If you are trying to install Windows 7 or Windows on a new device, such as a laptop notebook, netbook, or desktop computer, and encounter the error message “A Required CD/DVD drive driver is missing,” there could be several reasons why this is happening.
One possible reason for this error is that the Windows 7 DVD disc or Windows 10 installer is corrupted. Alternatively, if you are using downloaded ISO files, they could also be corrupted. Another possible reason is that the latest Intel chipset used in your computer may not yet be supported by Windows 7 or Windows 10. Finally, if the BIOS settings in your device do not include UEFI settings, this can also cause an error.
To resolve the issue of corrupted DVD disc or ISO files, the solution is to replace the Windows 7 or Windows 10 installer with a new one. If you are using an older version of the installer, you should update it or replace the Windows software altogether.
If you are using a bootable USB flash drive to install Windows 7 or Windows 10, it is important to note that newer desktop computers or laptops with USB 3.0 ports may encounter the same error message. In this case, make sure to plug the flash drive into a USB 2.0 port instead to avoid the error.
To distinguish the usb port between 2.o and 3.0, here’s the image below

If you are installing windows from a bootable USB, always boot from a 2.0 USB port; if your PC is brand new, Windows installer won't see the drivers of the 3.0 USB ports. That was my problem.
You can find some solutions regarding this issue in my youtube video comments.
Just check this out and hopes it help

Found a solution that worked for me (USB install only) When the message comes up click the little "x" button, then click the same button on the main installer. This should bring you back to the "welcome" screen. Then remove the usb and plug it into a different port. This then let me install windows with no problems

Also, from BIOS, choose "AUTO" for USB 3.0 instead of "ENABLE". with this selection, USB 3.0 drivers act as 2.0 during pre-boot. Even I use the only USB2.0 port on my device, only after selecting this option, the error message disappeared.

Thanks for the video, but didn't help me. I found a fix that worked for me was to simply install from a usb 2.0 port rather than a 3.0.

You don't need to do all those things, man. When you see this message – push cancel button and move back to INSTAL NOW button. Then remove your USB from a port and select DIFFERENT usb port. Turn your USB IN and push the Install NOW button. You'r done.

I assume all of you are using USB drive to install. When Windows is asking for driver, just click Cancel. You will be brought back to the welcome screen. At the welcome screen, remove your USB drive, insert it back to DIFFERENT USB PORT. Click Install Now again. The installation process will be like usual. This problem happened to all new version of updated Windows 7 installer. I think, it is due to failure of Windows installer to remain its detection to the USB drive. It lost the connection, and became confused, don't know where to find the USB drive it used to read before. When we re-insert the USB drive, Windows installer will detect the USB drive back, and continue like usual. Good luck and cheers!
Thanks for the comments and appreciate it.
But based on my experience, all problem with this kind of error is just changing the installer.
Hope it helps…
hello, i have tried your solution but didnt work. i cannot browse the driver file because the usb was undetected. i only have two usb 3.0 ports in my laptop, the usb 2.0 port is broken, and the disc drive is also broken, so the only way i could install is by booting with 3.0 port. i have been searching everywhere for solutions but i haven't found any. i hope you can help. 🙂
based upon your problem, the only solution you should do is used external dvd.
Or you may take out your hard disk drive of your laptop and install the Windows 7 in different computer. Then after the installation of Windows 7, put back the disk drive into your laptop. Finally, just wish if it boots to desktop and install the driver. It works only in some laptop model and of course I've already tried it
Brave! In my case the problem was the USB 3.0 …
Turns out my problem was using a USB2.0 flash stick in a USB 3.0 port. Copied the .iso over to my USB3.0 external HDD and it worked perfectly.
Hello,
how did you even see the USB sticks… I keep seeing onlyt the hard drives. I notice that on your videos you cut it at one point when you don't see the needed USB, and then resume after it has been found.
