To repair the boot bcd you need to have the Windows 8 Bootable DVD or Bootable USB Installer. First thing to do is change the boot sequence order from System Hard disk drive to either DVD/CDROM or USB Flash Drive.
Follow the steps:
Insert the USB thumb drive into USB Port or Insert the DVD Disc in DVD Drive and start your computer.
- At startup of Windows 8 Installation Select your language to install and the “keyboard settings” and click next
- Click repair your computer
- Click Troubleshoot
- Click Advance options
- Click Automatic Repair
The repair process start, the “diagnosing pc and attempting repair message” will appear and the computer automatically restart. The message attempting to repair will appear at startup, the computer will restart.
If you’re lucky enough, the Windows 8 at this time will start with no errors. This process takes about 15 to 30 minutes.
If the automatic repair doesn’t work , return to above steps. Instead of Automatic Repair, at this time select the command prompt and run a fixboot command. In the command prompt type the following word with a space.
- bootrec /fixboot
- bootrec /fixmbr
- bootrec /RebuildBCD
Then restart your computer. Hope it works.
